Who’s Closer?

Hebrews 13:2 NASB
Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it.

I guess you never know who you’re dealing with. At the grocery store, your job, walking down those city streets; you may be, in fact, speaking with an angel.

Here’s my thought; why does the possibility that I could be speaking with an angel make me want to be nicer to someone? Are we, humans, not God’s most beloved creation? Is your neighbor not among the closest things to God’s heart?

Instead of being motivated by the fact that I could be speaking with one of God’s “secret service messengers,” I will be focused on loving my neighbor out of the love I have received from God first.
